Pursuant to a notice posted on August 8, 2024, a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on October 17, 2024, and permission granted on August 16, 2024, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Business & Industry, Subcommittee on test,  met in a work session and was called to order by the chair, Representative Longoria, at 10:00 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Longoria; Cole; Frazier; González, Jessica; Hinojosa; Isaac; Lambert; Neave Criado; and Vasut.

A quorum was present.

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

The chair recognized Senator Bettencourt III to explain HB 102.

HB 102 was left pending without objection.

The chair referred HB 102 to a subcommittee to be named later by the chair.

Representative Frazier moved that HB 102, with amendment(s), be reported favorably to the full committee with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
